Born and raised in Cowlitz County, I grew up fishing and playing in our beautiful rivers, parks, and forests. I have tremendous love for this place and our people.
Right now, we face many challenges. Too many families are struggling. Unemployment, substance abuse, homelessness, and crime are all barriers to the pursuit of happiness.
We have the assets to be great; we can be a magnet for small businesses, industry, recreation, tourism, and those seeking improved quality of life. We cannot do that without leaders who have a vision for the future; a vision that includes innovation, new partnerships, and collaborators helping to secure increased resources from the state and federal government. Together we can build and restore basic infrastructure like roads, bridges, and water systems; spark economic development and industry, create new family wage jobs, keep our community safe, build affordable housing and address homelessness, and protect our land, air, and water.
As your Commissioner, I will work tirelessly to build community and unite us to proactively tackle our challenges and leverage our assets to bring abundance, joy, and opportunity to the citizens of Cowlitz County.
